Online analysis for step tests

Analyze your lactate test online: LT1, LT2, VLamax and training zones

Enter pace or watts, lactate values and optional heart rate. LactateThreshold turns that into understandable performance diagnostics instead of a spreadsheet.

What does lactate test analysis mean?

A useful analysis does more than read a fixed 4 mmol/L point. It checks the shape of your lactate curve, compares several threshold models and translates results into training ranges for running, cycling or triathlon.

Data you need

  • Stages as pace or watts
  • Lactate value per stage in mmol/L
  • Optional: heart rate, body weight and stage duration

Results you get

  • LT1 and LT2 from multiple methods
  • VLamax estimate and metabolic profile
  • Individual training zones and race pacing

How the analysis works

1

Enter step-test data

Transfer measurements from Lactate Pro 2, Lactate Plus, Lactate Scout, Lactate Express or another meter.

2

Compare methods

The app calculates multiple scientific threshold models and shows how stable your result is.

3

Guide training

Use LT1, LT2 and zones for easy endurance, threshold intervals and race planning.

Why not just Excel?

Excel can plot values, but it will not tell you whether your curve is plausible, which method fits your data and how much the estimates spread. LactateThreshold closes that gap.

Frequently asked questions

Can I analyze a lactate test without a lab?

Yes, if you have valid values from a step test. For each stage you need pace or watts and the corresponding lactate value. A lab is not required for the software analysis.

Which meters work?

Any meter that reports mmol/L values works, including Lactate Pro 2, Lactate Plus, EKF Lactate Scout, Lactate Express and similar portable meters.

Is a fixed 4 mmol/L value enough?

It can work for some athletes and be far off for others. That is why LactateThreshold compares multiple methods instead of returning only one fixed point.
