Kristian Hoffmann is the founder and developer of LactateThreshold and writes the methods documentation and blog articles on this site.
Iโm Kristian Hoffmann, and I build LactateThreshold out of my own endurance training. It started with one question: why should analyzing a lactate test cost 150โ300 EUR in a lab when the methods behind it are published sport science? Mader, Dickhuth, Dmax and the others are peer-reviewed and decades old. So every method in the app carries its literature reference, and you see the spread between methods instead of one black-box number. If something in your analysis looks wrong, write to me directly.
LactateThreshold is built by Kristian Hoffmann โ out of first-hand experience in endurance sport and the conviction that valid performance diagnostics should not stay locked behind lab prices. Every analysis method is backed by peer-reviewed literature and transparently documented โ no black box, no made-up algorithms.
Every calculation method in the app is documented with its primary source (DOI). Where validation data only holds for certain stage lengths, that is stated next to it. Please report mistakes directly: moin@kristianhoffmann.de
