Stiffness of a carbon fiber ankle-foot orthosis and its effect on gait mechanics

Randomized crossover study at the University of Iowa with 20 healthy adults aged 18 to 45: walking without an orthosis, with a moderate-stiffness and with a stiff Malleo-Lok orthosis. Ankle stiffness, push-off power, joint moment as well as pain and comfort were measured.
