More referees, fewer injuries? A field study in youth soccer

Non-randomized crossover study in a youth league in Birmingham, Alabama: 49 teams of 8- to 11-year-olds each played one match with one referee and one with three. Injuries were counted when a child had to leave the field or needed adult attention.
