Sex hormones and neuromuscular control across the menstrual cycle and under hormonal contraception

Prospective cohort study at UT Southwestern Medical Center with 102 people aged 18 to 39: 61 women with natural cycles, 30 using hormonal contraception, 11 men. Stretch and flexion reflexes, H-reflex, muscle twitch, force steadiness and cortical excitability by transcranial magnetic stimulation were measured.
