Autologous transfusion raises VO2max by about ten percent – regardless of 7, 28 or 42 days of storage

Randomized study at Stony Brook University with 42 regularly exercising adults (18–40 years): reinfusion of two units of their own red blood cells after 7, 28 or 42 days of storage. The change in VO2max and exercise duration in a graded test was measured.
