Marathon training in novices: no increase in left ventricular trabeculation after seven months

Prospective cohort study with 120 previously inactive adults (aged 18 to 35) training for a marathon. Before and after seven months, compacted and non-compacted myocardial layers and the complexity of the inner wall were measured with echocardiography and cardiac MRI.
